Here we are taking steps!!! (Smokey, G.T.'s hiney, Obi, & Sally)
If you are wondering why Obi's beeyoutiful floofy tail is shaved, it's because he had a perineal urethrostomy. You can find out all about it here. This isn't for the faint of heart.
That's a good pichur taking steps. Does GT know he's going the wrong way. Poor Obi's floofy tail. How long ago did he haf the op? We hope efurryfing is ok furr him now.
That is such a cute photo. There was a cat at the shelter who had a urethrostomy. My Mommie remembers him well, his name was Austin. It was a very heartwarming story, because after he recovered from his surgery, a lady came in and fell in love with Austin. The lady sent a card telling us how happy she is with Austin.
ps: I saw your comment, and wanted to mention that (unfortunately) the shelter probably would not have done the procedure if they knew in advance that is what he needed. Austin was in and out of the hospital for blockages a few times before he finally had the surgery. You are right, it was a LOT of green papers, even discounted (the figure had three 0's at the end).
Austin was dumped at the front door of the shelter without any information, and he was extremely ill within a few days. We are guessing he probably had a history of urinary problems before his owners abandoned him.
forty paws, mama has pictures of ben2 a few pages back in the my blog archive. right now mama doesn't have a camera--dad got it when he left. she doesn't have $ to shop for a camera yet, either. as soon as she has some $, she'll buy a camera and then there'll be new pictures of both of us!

Obi's tail looks like a bottle brush!
Will he be helping Maw clean out the hummingbird feeders this spring?
We read about the urethrostomy, and think that Obi is a very brave kitty. He looks like he's doing well, though!
And Jazper says: look at how shiney Sgt. Sally's eyes are! Beeeeyooootiful!

He gots a fev-ver duster on his tail!
That is a good pic. The shaven tail looks like a cute feather duster x
What a great picture, and Obi's tail is amazing! I hope he is feeling OK, he is so brave.

Good photo!
I hope that Obi is feeling better after the operation. He's a fat and furry fellow just like me!
Princess Pearl mentioned that one of the Forty Paws' Feeders is English just like one of mine. I think that's cool!

I am glad Austin (and Obi) had a happy "ending".
I'm glad you explained about Obi's tail. When I first looked at the photo I said, "WHAT THE HECK!?"
But then you explained it so it all made sense to me. :)
Love the photo.
Pearl.
Oh Obi, that was a big surgery. BigIg decided you needed to be featured on his blog!
