Here is Reno hanging out in the crow's nest. You can sort of see the third eyelid partially covering his right eye. The scarring from the Feline Herpes1 virus caused this. The third eyelid attached itself to the outer eyelids on all 4 of the cats who came from the crazy cat lady's garage. They were born to a mother with Feline Herpes and it was passed to them during birth. Their eyes didn't open when they should have, and over time, without proper treatments and help, it scarred each of them to varying degrees in the right eye on each kitten.
Reno's eye is the worst. We don't believe he can see well from that eye and think that is where part of his skittishness comes from. But he was also kept in the cage in the garage 2 months longer than his siblings, so this may have also impacted his disposition. He should be seen by a veterinary ophthamologist, but since he is so difficult to handle, we haven't taken him in.

Reno, I wish that hadn't happened to your and your siblings ... but you sure do look manly nevertheless!
well, y'all are a good looking bunch of cats, scarred eyes or no scarred eyes.
Reno dude, hang in there. We understand your skittishness. We are also glad you have a safe wonderful home with non-crazy beans to take care of you!!!
That is so sad to hear. May all hell come over that evil lady! But you found really good beans now, so they will help you and live will be good!!!! And no matter what: you are an awesome man cat!
And I am Cat of the Day! I am just too happy to contain it...

Hi Reno...
I totally understand skittish. Totally.
I'm sorry you had such a rough start at the beginning of your life. You're a lucky boy to live at 40 Paws with Maw and Paw.
Keep up your man cat ways, Reno. We love you.
Reno, being difficult to handle is very manly!
We ♥ Reno!
And we think we're a bit mean, but we hope that crazy garage lady rots in a special circle of hell!
We're just glad Reno has 40 Paws Maw to love him & his siblings, and make sure they know there are loving beans out there.

I'm difficult to handle, and I don't even have the good reasons that you do. Maybe I need an attitude adjustment, but I really don't care. You look very handsome and manly. Purrs!
Grr
Oh, poor Reno! That Feline Herpes1 must be terrible!
I can understand how it would make him a little difficult. Maybe someday he'll be able to go in and be seen.

Reno, what happened to you and your siblings is very sad. I'm just very happy you have such a wonderful Forever Home now. Your crow's nest looks like a great place to hang out!
You are a beautiful Mancat - Reno. I wish you will have a great life now, you don't have to worry.
So good of you to take these cats and help them out. Our second cat came from a bad home and it has taken years for her skittishness to wear off, but it was worth it. Good luck.
Reno, you've been awarded the Rockin' Boy Blogger award at
