Update: Well, the Vet Dentist saw one fang and one molar were definitely FORLs, so she said that she would just take the rest out since it hasn't been a year yet and it's obvious that all of his teeth will eventually have FORLs at this point. This time they will insert a feeding tube into his neck so that I can administer meds and liquid foods until he feels like eating on his own. He will have to wear a sweater to protect the feeding tube, and the e-collar so he doesn't scratch at his mouth. What fun!
Our purrecious liddle Dorfie is at the Vet Dentist once again. It hasn't been 6 months since his last extractions, but he isn't feeling well, and his eyes are dilated again, so he probably has more Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions.
If you click to biggify, you can see the scar across the center of his belly where he had the capillary vasculitis eruption from the meds the first time he had teeth extracted. It took 6 months for that open sore to heal. And now it's a big scar.
We think we will probably ask the dentist to extract his remaining teeth. He had 10 extracted the first time, 9 the second time. He only has 11 left, and he is miserable for 2 weeks while taking his meds and wearing his e-collar. Well, the first time he was miserable for several months because he was so sick and had the meds reaction. And, it costs an absolute ton of green papers each time we go to the vet dentist. It costs more each time than Obi's penile urethrostomy cost!!!

Poor Dorfie! I think you are right to just have the remaining teeths removed. Then he does not have to keep going through this. My Mommie knows several cats at the shelter with no teeths and they do fine.

I'll purr really loud for him especially because that's probably going to be me in a few years. With my stomatis it will most likely make sense to remove all of my teeth at some point. Good luck Dorfie! I hope the medicines aren't too bad this time.
