Wordy Wednesday

Ok, so today's Dallas Morning News has an article about the flu shot only being 27% effective against the flu strains showing up in Texas and about 50% effective in the rest of the US. So that explains why Maw got the flu even though she got shot.

In udder noos, Gatsbi has a scabby lump on her tail. Don't no wat dat is...

And in further udder noos, Bow has taken to howling in da middle of da nite. He goes Raowr raowr raowr raowr with a nasally sownd. He has done dis fur yeers, but he usushally goes out in da cat enkloshur an duz it. But since Paw puttted da noo cat enkloshur up, Maw hast bin shutting the cat flap at nite so dat it dunt go flap flap, flap flap, flap flap wen da poodins run in & out. So now, Bow is howling in da howse an Maw is yelling, "Bow!!!!!" So now she ist gonna take him bak in fur his next blood glucose test since he's off his treats and steroids and on da noo medsins.

Oh, an we haf da cat cold, aka Feline Herpes1 outbreak, floating arownd da howse. Annie hast green eye bogies. An Smokey ist sneezin an sneezin, and Jenny ist sneezin, an Bow is snufflin agin. Bow camed down wid da cat cold so bad dat it kinena ruined his nasal passages. He had dem scoped an efurryting at da specialist an den he was on Clindamycin for months cuz any kinena moxie type aunty-by-otiks makes him yak--immediately. He ist allergic to dem. So.....

Den yestday Maw wuz duing da Texassss Chain Saw Massacre on da tree limbs an Annie wast snoopervisin frum da cat ham-mik in da winder.

Ok. Oh, an of course, sumbuddy yakked overnite.

You guys get well, eh? Sickness sucks.

Ninna tends to yowl in the middle of the night, too, and she wakes everyone up (or won't let them get to sleep). So we can appreciate what you're saying about Bow.

Sending lots of healing purrs out to all of you.

Yes, this year, the flu shot strains didn't match too well with the actual strains that showed up in most of the U.S. (They have to prepare the vaccine well in advance of flu season, so experts get together and decide which strains they think will be most prevalent in the upcoming flu season. Most of the time they get things fairly close, but once in a while, they don't match well at all, and that's what happened in most of the US this year.) Fortunately, the flu shot matched the Canadian and German strains better, so our mom has been well protected.

oh dear! we're sending lotsa get well purrs your way. the only news we've got is that Riley scratched all the fur off a big round spot on the side of her neck and made it all pink and hurty looking. I DID NOT BITE HER. the people witnessed her scratching herself with HEROWN FOOT and it was not my teeth, which wouldn't pull out a circle of fur anyway even if I did bite her, which I want to, but I didn't.

Never at dull moment at your house!
That howling in the night has to be kinda eerie, but if a cat's gotta yowl, a cat's gotta yowl.
We sure are glad Ma is all better now so she can nurse all you back to health.

when Bow says"Raowr raowr raowr raowr" he is ovioslys calling for my sista Raowr! Thats her names you know, so you tell your bean he is making long distance kittyphone calls at night. And I,Napoleon, also enjoy the late night roarings and meowlings and the general noise makings at 11pm and agains at 3am. Momma yells my name too, but it don't work wif me neithers!
