Obi and Fabrics

Here is Obi on the rug. You may notice a lot of fur on this rug. We would like to ask those of you who have several poodins in your house, HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR HOUSES LOOKING SO CLEAN????????? Argh! And several days of the week, there will be yak to clean up, or other messes on the floor to clean up. Maw now understands why the rug at the old house became dirty so quickly. It was all of the yakking that didn't have food units in it!!! And out-of-litter box experiences!!! It is much easier to see these items on a wooden floor...

So Obi is on prednisolone and a different anxiety medication to help him cope with his out-of-litter box pooping experiences and because G.T. and Dorf attack him. ARGH!!! The first couple of months that we were here in the new house, life seemed perfect because the cats kept to smaller areas and didn't do a lot of roaming around. Now the cats move around a lot, and hence, the problems have resumed. ARGH!

Ok, so we have had a few orders for Ham-Micks recently, and Maw discovered that we were running a bit low on fabrics, so she went shopping. She was disappointed that there weren't a lot of what she would call 'poodin friendly' fabrics. But she did purchase 3 new fabrics and here they are! If you would like to see the whole Ham-Mick selection, you can click on Dorf's picture in the left hand corner of the blog, and it will take you to the Ham-Mick selection!

By the way, it is still hot here in Texas.

Hah, mom sez da only way our house could ever be clean is if she tossed dad and all his crap out and hired someone to run around cleaning up behind us 24/7. Mom just cleaned da bafroom and somehow dad managed to make da floor dirty and gots glops and shavey hairs all over da back of da sink.

Our house always looks like it threw up. The Woman gave up and no longer tries to keep it clean. Just uncluttered.

We're sorry Obi is having box problems...we'll purr for him that he starts to feel more comfortable and Dorf and G.T. stop bothering him.

We love those new fabrics...specially the animal print, of course!

Ok...the truth...

Our house looks pretty good on Saturday and by Sunday it's back on track...mom takes most of her pictures on the weekend. Starting on Monday it's getting bad again...and by Friday...ack!!! No one gets invited to our house on a Friday. Then Saturday we start all over again. Also if it's too messy, mom will take pictures in another part of the house or outside.

That's our behind the scenes secrets. We hack up hairballs, shed, drag in dirt and leaves with the best of them!

The giraffe pattern fabric is awesome! My Mommeh is glad we have all tile floors downstairs, it's easy to keep clean.

Our carpets always have furrs on them, mostly from when we get zoom groomed cuz it flies everywhere. When mum hoovers, it's all furry again an hour later. The kitchen floor always has muddy footprints too. We wait for mum to wash it and then we play THoE in the garden and bring earth in again. Mum sez it's okay cuz it's lived in and not a show home.

Our Mom gave up truing to keep the furs cleaned up. She just takes pictures ans apologizes for the mess! We like the new fabrics. Mom being a quilter, her favorite is the patchwork.

Sunny's Daddy vacuums ;-) The color of the carpet helps, too. The only cat hair I ever notice is if a big tuft of some one's comes out.

Our problem is the cat hair on the furniture :-0 It's bad. They're good about sleeping in their beds during the day (which get vacuumed) But at night Ollie likes to sleep on the sofa. Rascal does that, too, even during the day but I cut Rascal a lot of slack because she's old. Fortunately, Sunny's learned he's not allowed on the sofa or chairs. (He sheds the worst of all and I call him my big allergen). He'll lay on table tops occasionally, but those are quick to wipe off.

I hope the medications make Obi feel better soon! It's no fun being attacked, and feeling stressed.

It's kinda hot here in San Diego, too ... Sigh. I wish that autumn would arrive with some coolin' air.

Those are great new ham-mick fabrics. The top animal print one is our favorite. We're sorry Obi is feeling anxiety. We hope the medication makes him feel better, and the other kitties take it easy on him. Our mom cleans house on weekends and it stays clean looking for only about an hour. She's just accepted kitty fur and toys on carpet and furniture as a sign of a happy home.

I am very fortunate in that I never shead or yak. Just kitten. My Mom is allergic to kittehs, so she hasta dust and vacuum almost every day.

I shed a little, but mom doesn't mind vacuumin' up after me...she pretty much follows me wherever I go with a sucker or whiper of some sort.
Obi, buddy, do try to calm yourself..I know how you feel!

Mom says she gives up on keeping my floof off of the furniture and she uses photo editing software to edit out all of the stains in the carpet.

Poor Obi! It's real askeery to get attacked when you're just tryin' to do your bizness. We hope you feel better soon!

Since Shaggy is the longhair he sheds ALOT! His fur will collect into tumbleweed fur balls and drift across the kitchen floor, and collect on the basement steps so bad it looks like they're growing hair!
Plus with the guinea pigs their pine bedding gets tracked all over the house!!!
Mom just cleans when it starts to look bad, otherwise she leaves it. Yeah, she's lazy.
Obi, Scout used to jump Scooby when he used the box. Scooby started pooping in a dark corner of the basement. It got quite fragrant before mom found it!!!
She just added another litter box in a room upstairs, no problems since.

Sorry your problems have come back. And the three new fabrics are lovely!

Check out my blog about a colony of abandoned/feral cats near my home. There will be stories there as time goes on that could inspire and inform anyone you know who wants to help homeless cats.

Would you add me to your blog list?

Thank you,

Sorry to hear about the litter problem. We don't understand why the humans are so obsessed with "clean". They haul that big, stinking, noisy monster almost on a daily basis. We like some fur balls in the corners. And some litter around the house in strategic places. Nothing better than a barefooted human going "OUCH! CLIFF AND OLIIIIVIA!!!". Hehe.

It seems like i spend my life sweeping, vacuuming, petzyming.....have you tried Clomicalm for your little one? or the feliway plugins? i found both did wonders with mine...although it doesnt work in all patients..good luck!
