Thirteen Reasons Why it Sucks to Be Me, by Dorf 1. I had 3 dental surgeries. 2. I have no teeth left. None. Zip. Zero. Nadda. 3. I had a capillary vasculitis eruption after my first dental surgery and had a big hole in my stomach that took 6 months to heal. 4. I had to wear a 12 month Onesie to keep me from licking the cream off my eruption. 5. I was a conehead after each dental surgery. 6. I am going blind. 7. Obi smacks me now when he walks up to me. 8. I still corner Obi and Reno, and scare the pee and poo out of them, but not as much as I used to when my teeth hurt. 9. When I try to jump up on stuff now, sometimes I don't make it and that is scary. 10. I have to live with 9 other poodins and share my Maw & Paw. 11. I try to stay very close to Maw when the sun starts going down because it gets very hard for me to see. 12. I get spooked by things I can't see when my nose bumps into them. 13. My brother, G.T., is trying to take over my job of cornering Reno & Obi. Luf, Dorf |

Aw Dorf, it does seem difficult to be you. I'm sorry things are so difficult but you are a real survivor and you should be proud of that! I bet you will overcome this new obstacle AND I bet it will get you more Maw & Paw attention.
Kaze
Oh, Dorf. Those things do suck. But your Maw and Paw love you a lot and I think they take really good care of you. Purrs and woofs to you.
oh Dorfie. You is the toughest kitty we has efurr known. you has been through so much and you're still going. It's a good idea to stay close to Maw when it starts getting darker out. Plus, it's shur to get you extra attenshuns from her when you're close to her more.
Dorf, we hopes that you feels better. Georgia has a lot of problems too but she gets around okay. See I am glad you have a nice Maw to help you when the sun starts going down!
Just swat back when those cats aren't nice. It doesn't matter if you miss. It's the thought that counts.
You could come visit us if you need to get away. There are only four of us and I'm the only one who will push you around...
Mom talked to da naybor fur a little while yesterday, she sez dat da one kitty dat was da meanest to him is now da one dat leads da blind one around. He effun sits on top of da perch and makes murf noyzes so blind kitty can figger out how to get up der. Mom's gonna go over der tomoro at morning play time to see dem...she hasn't been der for a cuppul years! Neether of dem dumb ladies reelized dat dey only talk out on da street...beans is weer.
Oh, Dorf, you've had a rough time of things. I'm just happy you have such a wonderful Maw and Paw who care for you and look after you. I am so sorry that you are going blind. I will keep you in my prayers and send lots of purrs your way.
Dorf, you have been going through some rough times and we can understand why you think it sucks to be you. Just remember you got a good maw and paw to watch out for you and take care of you.
Midnite & Stray Kitty
Those things sure do suck big time, but on the other paw, you've got the best and most caring people loving you and taking care of you, plus you've got a huge extended family in the Cat Blogosphere to support you. We're sending lotsa love & purrrrrrs!
If your brothers & sisters don't help you get around, I'll come over and help you. I've got lotsa practice with these kittens. I have to watch them all the time and make sure they're okay. 'Specially Riley 'cause her back legs don't work real well. When I can't see them, or they're getting into trouble, I meow like crazy and call the Lady to come help.
Midnight
well dorf honey you are on my left sidebar today, does that make you happy honey pie???

Sometimes life just sucks, don't it, Dorf? But you're a survivor, and one tough kittie.
Remember, you've got a nice home, and a Maw & Paw who love and care for you. Hang in there, Dorfie. You'll do fine.
ppuuuurrrrrrr
That does suck, Dorf. I hope you get some extra treats to make you feel a little better. And I hope G.T. is up to the job. Hang in there, buddy.
Your buddy, Jimmy Joe
(sigh) It's not easy getting old. Hang in there, dude.
aw dorfie - ise sorry to hear you are going blind...be careful and take good car of yourself! xxx
You have a good Mom and Dad and they'll help you adjust to this.
A suggestion for your Mom. Since jumping on things is getting to be a problem, you could put a small set of steps (I've seen these available online or you could build them yourself) or a stepstool in front of whatever Dorf usually likes to jump on. (Such as your bed or a favorite piece of furniture). It'll make it easier for him to get up to where he usually wants to be, without having to do a big jump.
You could try ramps, also, to alleviate the problem jumping presents for him.
Oh, Dorf, we is furry sorry. You're a good guy and don't deserve this stuff at all! But you're also a smart guy and we fink you're gonna adjust real quick. I mean, you've got no teefies but you could still lay a smackdown on your brofurs, right? So who's to say that you won't be the greatest, seeingest blind cat there ever was?
Dorf, we love you!
Tara and Kavan
Dorf, I love you. You've been so brave and I love that about you.
The ramps sound like a really good idea - in fact, I wouldn't mind having some ramps myself!
Those are all really sucky things, Dorf, but you are one tough kitty and I'm sure you will adjust. Smack Obi back. You have the most loving Maw and Paw to take care of you. Sticking close to Maw when it gets dark is a very good idea.
Dorfie Honey, We are so sorry for all you have had to go through. Now you have to learn how to get around with no sight. If any kitty can do it, you can!
Please remember when you are feeling low that you have sqillions of friends who love you very much.
Smooches!
Poor Dorfie! I loves you. We used to have a ramp for Cricket, the Cat Who Came Before because he got arthritis and could not jump onto the bed by himself. He liked climbing up and down the ramp.
You're hanging in there and that's what counts. As long as you can love and be loved, life will go on.
Dorf we're sorry yer gitting eye trubbles now, but we know yer a fighter, and yoo'll overcome this too. We fink mebbe GT isn't trying to take ofurr, but he mite be backing yoo up instead. We're purring furr yoo.
