Toe Trimming at Forty Paws

Thank you to everyone who has introduced themselves to us!! We are so happy to make new friends and feel honored to be a part of the international cat blogosphere!!! We will add you all to our blog roll and visit you regularly!

Ack!! It's toe trimming weekend at the Forty Paws household. But only 34 paws get trimmed on toe trimming weekend. That's because Jenny the Formerly Feral cat is still mostly feral and can't be handled. And the 'ol Fart Bow only has 2 paws to trim 'cause he's declawed in front.
So we wait until Reno is sound asleep and then grab him and trim his toes first because otherwise he hides for a month if he knows it's toe trimming weekend. After Reno is trimmed, then the other eight can be done in short order.

I hate to get my claws trimmed. But I let my Mommie do it when they get too long. I wonder how long it takes to trim all the paws at yer house??

Hello Forty Paws! I bet it is an all day event to trim all of your claws! I'm just like Reno when it comes to my paws -- I'll hide in the closet when I see the trimmers!

Hi! I hate getting my claws trimmed too. This happens once a month. Yuck. I also haf to get my ears cleaned efury week and my teeth too. I am a former feral who is FIV positive (I was when I was found) and that is why I gets lotsa maintenance. I get sick a lot. I am indoors only now and very spoiled.
My mommy and I are very impuressed that your beans (human beings) take so much on with sick kitties. That is wunderful of them.
Stop by and visit us when you get a chance. We loves meeting new people and new kitties. You'll meet lotsa good beans and kitties when you blog.

Hiya, Forty Paws! The Feline Americans and I are NOT fond of "clippy claws" in our household, but thanks to your post today ... Mom's warmin' up the snap scissors. Gee, thanks.

On a brighter note ... Welcome to the cat blogosphere! We're adding you to our blogroll. Please add us to yours if you're so inclined.

wow! that's a whole lot of toe trimming! sounds like an all day event! we're sure glad we never gets trimmed unless we go to the vet and she does it. 'course me & bandit only have back claws and we're very good and hardly ever scratch anything with them. mommy had the vet trim holly's claws, though, 'cause they were super-sharp!

OH, MY! Toe trimming. I came to mama with no front claws, and she gaved up on trimming back ones way before me. She figures mostly damage (!) is done with front claws, and we need sharp claws for defense (and traction on the carpet for runs), so no trimming for me!

Welcome to the cat blogosphere! Mr. Hendrix is my boyfriend, so I linked to your blog. Hope you don't mind. Feel free to link to mine.

so nice to meet all of you at 40 paws. i'm glad your mom and dad work so hard to take good care of you.

toe trimming isn't much fun, but think of the kneading you get to do without anyone saying 'ouch!' and 'stop that!'

in fact, it's probably my clippy claw weekend too. i saw mama looking at her own claws while thinking she needs to trim them. (we do clippy claws on the same day).

i'll add you to my blogroll; will you do the same?

good point, Suzanne and her mama! I hadn't thought of it from that angle before.

We don't resist too much when it comes to the toe clipping. We just scratch extra hard on the scratching mat.

Dat's a lot of claws to trim. We don't get owrs done cuz we go outdoors playing, and clime trees an fings, so thay don't grow long, but mum sez thay are sharp.

Hello, furiends. I'm Bonnie, the original Attack Tabby, and I'm front declawed. No one would DARE try to trim my rear claws. The stoopid cowcat invadin my home, Victor, sumtimes lets my woman trim his claws, but yousualy she takes him to PetSmart for it. $8 isn't much fur 1 cat, but... hmmm. 8 of you?!?!
