Feline Asthma

Do any of you poodins out there have Feline Asthma? Do any of you use the AeroKat system? It appears that Annie probably has Feline Asthma since her cough has returned, and she is now on daily oral steroids. We are wondering if any of you have used the AeroKat system for MDI dosages of steroids?

I'm sorry, we don't know anything about the AeroKat system, but please keep us all posted.

Be well, Annie!

We're sorry we don't know anything about feline asthma. Our Mom has asthma, but what she does probably wouldn't help your kitty.

Purrs and healing thoughts.

One of the old-time cats (Ruby) at the shelter had asthma and used a special inhaler for her aerosol medications. She has been gone for almost a year, but I recall we gave her Flovent and Albuteral (one puff of one, and two puffs of the other). We would gently stroke her head while timing how long she had the little mask over her muzzle. She was always relaxed when she got her medicine and didn't mind it at all. She also took prednisolone, and when she had bad days we would put her in the nebulizer and medicate her with aminophylline/gentamicin/saline.

We don't know anything about the AeroKat system, although our Cecilia has asthma and our dear departed Maggie had asthma. Maggie got bronchiodilators in capsule form that we could break up and put in her food. Cecilia gets steriod injections when it acts up. We also made sure we didn't use fabric softener sheets in the dryer...use non-scented litter and also use vinegar and water to clean to reduce irritants, etc.
