Thanks About the Guilt

Thank you to all you wonderful Moms who left comments yesterday about the guilt. Maw feels worse when she is tired also. And it helped a lot that you pointed out that Bow was having trouble getting around and was not doing well. Maw keeps forgetting that part.

Maw starts a new job on Tuesday, so our lack of blog posting will probably intensify some. Just letting you all know. Although we still sell Dorfington Fish Stanley Ham-Micks!!! We send some of this money to some poodins who need help. We like to help other poodins because they need it, in Dorf's humble opinion.

Dear Maw and Paw,

I write this note to you with leaky eyes. I'm very sorry to read that you've lost Bow. I agree that you should not feel guilty. It's an act of selfless love to help our babies over when they need it.

Personally, I've always marveled at your level of dedication to all of your physically and mentally challenged poodins.

You are both doing a very wonderful job.

I completely understand the challenge of working and blogging. I'm trying now to post 1 a week and visit a few homes a day. Unfortunately, my work now blocks all blogs because they don't want students to access them so I need to blog at home only, which is probably a good thing.

Big hugs to you Maw,
Lynn, Ty's mom

It's always tough for those of us left. And you always make the best decisions you can. And you knew at the time it was the right one. Don't second guess yourself now. It was.

We will keep you in our thoughts and purrs.

Deciding to help him to the Bridge is so hard and we understand how it can leave you feeling guilty. Our mama went through the same thing with Chloe and Icon. It was the right thing to do.

Congratulations on the new job :)

Nothing makes it better, but knowing that others feel the same way does help a little bit, doesn't it? Mom always feels horrible and beats herself up over something as natural as the passing of time. When I go to the Bridge, Mom will feel horribly guilty, too.

Please know that our thoughts, purrs, and purrayers are with your fambly as you move through this difficult an' painful time. Bow was furry special and his presence will be missed.

Love and best wishes from DMM & Feline Americans

When the Blossoms and Seamus were sent to the Bridge, mum didn't get to make the decision. While they were living with us, mum was only their foster mum, and the shelter had ownership over them. Mum is still wracked with guilt that she didn't fight harder, especially for the Blossoms. She could see that Seamus was very sick, and feared that he wouldn't actually make it back to the vet, so he was easier to let go. But the Blossoms were euthanised because they were in contact, and the shelter didn't want an outbreak. They showed slight symptoms, but that was it. There isn't a day that goes by where mum doesn't wish she took them to her own vet first, so she could try and make them better herself. There was a chance for them, and mum didn't fight hard enough for it. She will never forgive herself for that.

You made the best decision possible for Bow, after doing the most amazing job with him. You exhausted all the possibilities, and gave him every chance, before having the courage to set him free before he suffered. We honestly don't know what else you could have done. You allowed Bow to pass in peace and love, and that is such a kind thing.

We hope the new job is great!

good luck on your new job Maw. Please don't feel guilty, Bow is always with you and he would never ever want you to feel that way. He is most likey grateful to you for helping him cross to the Bridge. It takes a lot of courage and love to do what you did Maw.

We has a question for you - does you sell the cloth parts of the ham-micks seperately? We would like a couple of replacement cloths, so could you email us and let us know how much?

You never have to apologize about not posting on your blog regularly!
Sometimes I find that pre-posting with Blogger helps me, setting a few posts to go up later when I have time.
If you're not sure how to do that, I can help you.
But, NO pressure to blog! Focus on your family, and getting settled into the new job routine.
*HUGS*

i went thru the same guilt feelings when i made the decision to let my meka go to the bridge. i remember crying everynight for weeks. i could not look at another cat (especially a calico) w/out thinking of her and crying. i must have asked myself hundreds of times if i did the right thing. it took time but i eventually realized that she was dying a slow horrible death from cancer and that it was working its way into her brain. i let her go because i loved her and did not want her to suffer. i still miss her, she was my baby for almost 16 years.

maw, it is because of your great love for the forty paws you feel guilty. if you had no conscience, no heart then bow would never had lived a long life filled with love. he would have died long ago. you gave bow a peaceful passing that is the beginning to a pain free life at the bridge. he is waiting for you there, waiting to thank you for all you have done for him - including letting him go.

i wish you the best of luck on your new job. i will continue to remember you in my prayers. take care.
