Here is Annie demonstrating another use for the cat hammocks. A chair!!! Yes, it's on the table because I was vacuuming. You know how whenever something is moved it suddenly becomes a brand new item and needs a very thorough inspection by a poodin?

This was an earlier prototype of the beds before I found a company selling the 3 way fittings.

Cat Beds

We had a few questions about our wonderful cat beds that were featured in our "Wacky Wednesday" post. We luf them. Our Maw makes them for us. She used to buy them through mail order, but those were made with wooden dowels, and when you've got Big Man Cats weighing 18 lbs. running across the room at a gazillion miles an hour and leaping onto the beds, the wooden dowels break. So Maw makes them with PVC pipe for us. They are indestructible.

Here is Dorf, our quality control manager, modeling a few of the styles that Maw has made in the past. Through much actual poodin testing, it has been determined that cats prefer the fleece beds to combed cotton, terry cloth, smooth cotton, and fuzzy or furry material.

It has also been determined that the fleece beds would sag and stretch too much with Big Man Cats of 18 lbs. or so lying on them all the time. So, Maw added an underlayer of broadcloth cotton or a similar material to strengthen the fleece.

These stand up to many, many washings. Maw washes them in hot water. First she vacuums off the excess fur so it doesn't get stuck into the cloth fibers.

Maw was gonna set up a web site to sell these hammocks, but she hasn't had enough web design classes yet, and since she can't even get stuff with Blogger to cooperate, she says her web site is a long way off. So, if any of you cats out there would care to purchase one of these hammocks, Maw will make them for you. She sells them for $25 and priority shipping will be $5.95 within the contiguous 48.

Dorf personally tests every bed that Maw makes. No bed leaves this house without Dorf's approval.

Here are the 3 fabrics Maw has in stock. She can make 2 beds with the Siberian tiger fleece, 3 beds each with the Pink Leopard and Black Leopard fleece. These are the soft fleece like a throw is made from; not the Polar Tec type fleece. You Pink Ladies may want to snatch up one of the Pink Leopard fleece beds!!!
