Obi
crossed over The Bridge this afternoon. His kidneys were gone. He was
only 11 years old, and I didn't expect to lose him this early. But he
has had kidney problems since 2004 when he had his penile urethrostomy.
And he has had UTI problems over the years. Obi had lost 3 lbs. since
January, and his BUN and creatinine numbers just increased so quickly.
He was getting sub-q fluids daily, and was on various medicines, and we
even saw a specialist last Wednesday. But his numbers were really
elevated today from what they were on Wednesday. It was time to give him
his peace and allow him to run free.
This is really difficult
since Jenny just crossed The Bridge on Friday. Losing 2 kitties within 4
days of each other is very sad.
There are now only 6 cats in the house of Forty Paws. There used to be 10.
