Maw Decided

Ok, so now that Maw is back in the employed world, she has decided that it is much quieter to live among 10 poodins who occasionally have THOE, cat fights, and screaming hissy fits than working with beans.

'Nuf said.

Thanks About the Guilt

Thank you to all you wonderful Moms who left comments yesterday about the guilt. Maw feels worse when she is tired also. And it helped a lot that you pointed out that Bow was having trouble getting around and was not doing well. Maw keeps forgetting that part.

Maw starts a new job on Tuesday, so our lack of blog posting will probably intensify some. Just letting you all know. Although we still sell Dorfington Fish Stanley Ham-Micks!!! We send some of this money to some poodins who need help. We like to help other poodins because they need it, in Dorf's humble opinion.

Guilt

Maw is feeling guilty about helping send Bow over the bridge. I guess your Moms have felt the same way? Maw is trying to get past this.

Bow was cremated the same day as his euthanasia, and Maw picked up a lovely wooden box the next day with "Bow" inscribed on it. And they gave her "The Bridge", and a lovely tribute to Bow's cremation. It was so quickly taken care of and very nicely done.

But she still feels guilty.

Thank You from Maw and Paw and Us

We want to send our many thanks to all poodins and their beans who have left some wonderful comments about Bow's crossing over. We appreciate all of them. Maw keeps crying everytime she reads them. And when she saw Bow's lufferly picture on the blogosphere yesterday, oh my goodness. She just burst into big ol' sobby tears. Oh yes. And now Karen Jo has written a beautiful limerick for Bow and now Maw is crying because his story and the limerick was so true for our lufferly Mancat Bow.

We luf you all.

Bow Crossed Over

This is a picture of Bow from Christmas, 2002. This is when he weighed about 19 lbs.

Dr. Dana helped Bow cross over today. He was doing poorly and could barely move around at all. Maw knew this time would come, but it was still hard. It sort of wore Maw out to do this. Yes, she cried. Now when she walks past the spot where Bow was sleeping the last 8 months, Maw looks over there to see if he is looking at her.

Formerly Feral Jenny

This is a picture from Christmas in 2007. Jenny is a bit thinner now because she has thyroid issues and has lost weight. She will be 15 years old in March. Jenny is still a bit feral. She never has warmed up to being an indoor cat. She was trapped at about 3 or 4 months of age and was very terrified of people already. So she just exists around here. Obviously we can't pill her, so her thyroid pill is ground up in tuna juice every morning. Lucky it doesn't taste bad, huh?

Various Items in Our Lives

Weather is a bit wacky right now. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be around 70, but then dropping into the 50s on Saturday. So Maw plans on raking up the last of the oak leaves that dropped from the trees in December. We might watch her. We might not.

G.T. received his allergy shot yesterday. He was like, "What?" Then he slept. Then he puked this morning.

Annie is now on a steroid pill every other day, so we'll see how her hacking is going with her asthma. Paw says she is acting weird. It's probably because she is on steroids now. She's also eating more. Than normal. Which, when a poodin is Annie's size, they might be classified as obese?

Bow is hanging in there. We appreciate all the purrs and purrayers for him. We don't estimate his remaining time to be long. He is a couple of months from the age of 19. Bless his heart.

Orinch #2 appeared again this morning. Where did Orinch #1 go? These crazy Orinch poodins. And we haven't seen Bob in a while. Bob was not a regular visitor anyway, and we figure that Bob has a permanent home somewhere around here.

Wordy Wednesday

Bow is getting a bit more rickety in his walking. Monday he could barely walk, and was walking with a couple of his feet turned under. So now we are giving him sub-q fluids daily and gave him a dexamethasone shot yesterday to sort of boost him up a bit. He is still getting up and moving around and using his litter boxes. Maw moved his favorite food and water dish next to his bed so he doesn't have to go to the kitchen if he doesn't want to go.

Orinch #2 was here this morning. Haven't seen him around in a couple of weeks.

Sometimes on Sundays

Here is the toy that came with our Secret Paws from Charlemagne and Tamar! Paw found it underneath the furniture. We knew where it was. It's very cute! A little mousie with a tail! We'll have to lose it again.

So Maw checked the inbox of our account and discovered that there are emails from the 16th of December! She's a bit behind in blogging these past few weeks. We do not understand this!

Yesterday it was 84F in Dallas. Today it is not supposed to be above 44F. Yep. Weird weather.

Thank you to efurrybuddy who commented on asthma in poodins. If anyone else out there is familiar with asthma in poodins, we would luf to hear from you!

We will try to get Maw to comment on poodins blogs since we are like, so totally far behind, in commenting! Of course, we blame Maw for this.

Feline Asthma

Do any of you poodins out there have Feline Asthma? Do any of you use the AeroKat system? It appears that Annie probably has Feline Asthma since her cough has returned, and she is now on daily oral steroids. We are wondering if any of you have used the AeroKat system for MDI dosages of steroids?
